Detail About How To Apply

Eligibility: Prerequisite

  • Passed 10+2 examination.
  • Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination. Candidates currently appearing for the 12 or 10+2 grade and awaiting final examination results are eligible to apply, however admission will only be secured upon submission of grades as an when declared. It is mandatory to have passed the examination with marks as mentioned above.


  • Portfolio of original creative work
  • Evidence of creative skills, eg. writing, making, performing, drawing, crafts

The Application Process


Application Form

Candidates are required to fill up an Application Form to enroll for the Entrance Test. Application fee is Rs. 1000/- per applicant. Form can be downloaded or collected from Presidency University Admissions Office after payment of application fee. Please use to pay entrance fee and download/fill the application form.

Guidelines for STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (one-page, about 500 words): An integral part of the entrance test, this phase requires each applicant to write who she/he is, her/his interests and skills and any other information the applicant deems fit to explain the intent for applying to the particular program. Applicants should self-write this essay and can share their ideas, goals and aspirations.

Admissions in the B. Des program is subject to performance in PUDET (Presidency University Design Entrance Test).

Presidency University Design Entrance Test (PUDET)
The entrance test will be conducted at Presidency University campus in Bengaluru.
This comprises of a General Knowledge Test, an Aptitude Test and a Personal Interaction.
In order to secure admission, it is mandatory for every applicant to complete and pass all three tests.

Guidelines for Entrance Test:

  • General Knowledge Test - A written test comprising of general questions about society, culture, environment, general reasoning, critical and logical thinking.
  • Aptitude Test - A test of creative problem-solving, making and doing in 2-D and 3-D skills.
  • Personal Interaction - An interaction with a panel of experts to present ideas and creative work. Interaction comprises of portfolio review comprising of original creative work and Q&A.
