The fashion industry is predicted to reach great heights in the coming years, owing to the digital disruption in the fashion system. From leading brands, start-up founders to individual designers, all have acknowledged the new paradigm brought about by technological and digital impact, which in turn has altered global fashion economy as well as consumer behaviour.

The evolving consumer behaviour has led to faster consumption of fashion in terms of trends and newness, pushing designers and brands to become more responsive to consumer needs and increase speed-to-market. Also, consumer's rising concern about sustainability and passion for social & environmental causes majorly influence their likeability and trust in brands, forcing companies to take a more purposeful stance and outlook. Taking all this into account, what the fashion industry needs is a workforce that thinks beyond aesthetics, is technologically driven, analytical yet empathetic.

The Fashion Design Program at PCDS aims to set standards by enabling learners with skill sets that goes beyond what they inherit as fashion designers. It will prepare them to leverage the multi-disciplinary nature of the program to acquire a rich world view. While they obtain a clear perspective on creativity and its applications in creating innovative fashion design, they will also learn to make responsible fashion with a positive impact on our surroundings. Through various technical skills acquired in the entire duration of the program, the learners are encouraged to design garments and accessories by constantly studying the industry, staying informed of current trends and are able to forecast future styles. For a holistic knowledge development, the fashion design program is embedded with subjects like fashion business, marketing, brand development and entrepreneurship, which are crucial to 21st century fashion designers.
